PAULINA GODOY AGUILAR

BCI Programs Director

Paulina studied Marine Biology and Ecotourism in Guatemala, Chile, and Mexico. She came to Cabo Pulmo as a student and dive guide in 2005 and never left. Previous to working for BCI she was Director of Amigos por la Conservación de Cabo Pulmo for 6 years, participated in different studies on whales in the North Pacific, leading a 3-year research project off the coast of Guatemala, and collaborated in the production of various audiovisual educational projects related to the conservation of the natural legacy of the Baja California peninsula and sustainable ways of life. Since 2017 she leads the Educational, Research and Communication programs of BCI.

 

ZHOE FRÍAS

BCI Communication Coordinator

With a degree in Communication Sciences from Tecnológico de Monterrey, Zhoe, has more than 20 years of experience in the development of communication and graphic design, web, editorial and advertising projects. Today, she collaborates in BCI as a graphic and content advisor in the different Communication and Education programs, from the design and development of her website and the Education to Action online platform, as well as other printed and digital materials and media.

 

CARLOS SALVADOR CÁRDENAS

Illustrator and Graphic Designer

Carlos has a Bachelor of Fine Arts, with an option in Graphic Design and a Master’s Degree in Transdisciplinary Studies for Sustainability (both from the Universidad Veracruzana). He has been a teacher, editor, academic coordinator, and cultural promoter. His work has won awards in the publishing field (New York) and poster (Mexico). He has participated in group poster exhibitions in Mexico, Cuba, Poland, Argentina, and Spain. He collaborates with BCI in the planning, design, and illustration of various research publications such as the WATER report in the Eastern Cape and environmental education booklets.

 

juDITH CASTRO LUCERO

Cabo Pulmo Environmental Education Campus Supervisor

Judy is originally from Cabo Pulmo, but as a young woman she left to study and work in different parts of Mexico. When she returned in 2008, she went to stay permanently and dedicate herself to the conservation and defense of the place, becoming a leader and spokesperson for the vision of Cabo Pulmo in various parts of the world. With her effort and dedication, she has been one of the most important agents of change to make this place what it is today. She is currently a representative of the social sector in the Technical Committee of the Fund for Natural Protected Areas at the National level and volunteers in BCI supervising and supporting the operations of the Environmental Education Campus in Cabo Pulmo.

 

FERNANDO GARZA LARRACILLA

Cabo Pulmo Visitors Center Coordinator

Fer is a Marine Biologist graduated from the Autonomous University of Baja California Sur. For 8 years he worked in the field researching and helping sea turtle conservation in Todos Santos and Los Cabos. He is the founder of KAHAL BAJA SUR science outreach project and now resides in Cabo Pulmo coordinating the activities and services of the Visitors Center, wich recieves hundreds of tourists and residents every year, making sure everyone understands the importance of our National Park and its marine treasures.
